Our cured and smoked items are made in house here at The Speckled Sow. We spent many years perfecting our recipes to ensure you are receiving the best bacon & ham in town! Trust us when we say, we have personally eaten A LOT of questionable bacon over the years fine tuning our current recipes you all know and love.

All poultry here at The Speckled Sow is raised on the Peace View Colony in Farmington BC. With a free range, and no added hormone diet, you can rest assured you are receiving the highest quality birds!

  • All whole, sides, & quarters of beef are provided by local farmers Korey & Ann Martens of Broken Horn Farm. At this time, all beef is set to be butcher ready in the fall of each year. If the yearly beef orders exceed the Broken Horn Farms cattle numbers, sides of beef will then be sourced through other local farms in Northern BC. All our ground beef is provided by local cattle farmers here in Vanderhoof.

  • 1 whole cow requires roughly 14 cu/ft freezer space.

  • ½ Cow requires roughly 7 cu/ft freezer space.

Pork

At this time, all lamb is set to be butcher ready in the winter of each year.  If the yearly lamb orders exceed the W4 Ranch’s lamb numbers, lamb will then be sourced through other local farms in Northern BC.

  • 1 whole lamb requires roughly 2 cu/ft freezer space.

  • 1 Half Lamb requires roughly 1 cu/ft freezer space.
